How to check your CSBS storage quota(s)

For information about what quotas are and why they are used, see the quota policy located at http://support.csbs.utah.edu/information/policies/quotas.html

There are two ways to check your quota status: via SSH, and via Webmail.

To check your quota status using SSH

Login using ssh. Click here for instructions.
Type this command then press Enter on your keyboard: quotareport

You should be presented with your quota summary, here is an example:

ab1234 quota summary for volume Inbox:  0.02 MB used of 50 MB
The number of MegaBytes available to ab1234:    49.98 MB


ab1234 quota summary for volume Home:   49.998 MB used of 400 MB
The number of MegaBytes available to ab1234:    350.002 MB


ab1234 quota summary for volume Share-lun05:    1.024 MB used of 3 MB
The number of MegaBytes available to ab1234:    1.976 MB

Another example where a quota had been exceeded:

WARNING!! ab1234 over quota for volume Inbox:   51.229 MB used of 50 MB
The number of MegaBytes ab1234 must remove:     1.229 MB
Time remaining before ab1234 account is locked: 1.5 months
(NB: Exceeding the time limit or 350MB on the Inbox volume will cause email to be rejected.)


ab1234 quota summary for volume Home:   49.998 MB used of 400 MB
The number of MegaBytes available to ab1234:    350.002 MB


ab1234 quota summary for volume Share-lun05:    1.024 MB used of 3 MB
The number of MegaBytes available to ab1234:    1.976 MB
