There are two ways to setup your email account to use the DSPAM service, both are explained in this document.
Enable DSPAM for your account using the DSpam web interface:
The DSpam web interface allows you to opt-in(enable) or opt-out(disable) of DSpam filtering
Point your browser to http://dspam.csbs.utah.edu
Log in
Click Preferences
Check the box next to "Check to Opt into DSPAM filtering"
Click "Submit Changes"
Enable DSPAM for your account using the webmail interface:
The new webmail includes tools for enabling DSPAM for your account. These instructions cover logging into webmail and using the webmail interface to enable DSPAM. You are not required to use webmail as your primary method of accessing email to make use of these tools.
First, point your browser (ie. netscape, safari, internet explorer, etc..) to http://webmail.csbs.utah.edu
Log in using your departmental email account's username and password.
If it is your first time logging in to webmail, you may be presented with a "Maintenance" screen. Click the button labeled "Skip Maintenance".
Once logged in, click "Preferences" located on the left side menu under "DSpam" and under "Mail"
This will take you to the "Dspam Preferences " page. Click on the checkbox next to "Check to Opt into DSPAM filtering" under the "Enable Dspam" category.
DSPAM is now enabled for your account. You will receive an email shortly to confirm that DSPAM has been enabled.
Enable DSPAM for your account using the unix command line:
Because of the way version 3.6.5 changed the way users opt in, Users must use the preferences page in the dspam web interface. Command line opt-in/out is no longer available.
Please go to this page, log in, and select preferences to configure DSPAM with your preferences.
