Cloud Storage Integration FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this site for?

We want to give you easy access to your files when using a lab computer or virtual environment. Thumb drives are no longer necessary when all your files are in one location in The Cloud. Cloud Integration helps you configure your options for accessing your files from anywhere.

After I sign up, where are my files?

When you complete the sign-up, you’ll find your Box account listed as the “I:” drive when you open any application in the labs. Simply go to “File”, then “Open” and select the “I:” drive with the Box logo. If you were already logged into the labs when you completed the sign-up, you’ll need to log out and back in again to create that location.

How do I open my files from Box in the labs?

When you access the virtual lab applications, your Box files will appear within the “I:” drive letter. Simply select File, then Open and select that drive letter.

How do I save my files to Box?

When you’re inside an application in the virtual labs, simply select “File”, then “Save” (or “Save as…”) and select the I: drive with the Box logo. Once saved, the files will upload to your Box account automatically. It just takes a few seconds.

I just saved/uploaded/deleted a file. How long does it take to sync?

Changes usually happen pretty quickly, usually just a few seconds. You might need to refresh the window after a minute or two in order to see it. You can do this by pressing F5 in the window or clicking Refresh.
