The CSBS Virtual Labs have converted from Citrix to Horizon. Setup instructions are found on the Self Support page.
Instances of Citrix Workspace are no longer supported in the CSBS virtual lab -

Umail Migration to Exchange Online
UIT has started the migration of umail accounts to exchange online.
If you are having issues accessing www.umail.utah.edu, or issues with your outlook client, please refer to this UIT knowledgebase article to resolve.

Windows 10 Feature Update
Windows 10 Feature Updates are rolling out to applicable computers. This update will be similar to normal monthly windows updates, but will take longer to complete.

Adding Pronouns to Display Names
CSBS Computing can update your display name to include your preferred pronouns. This change will impact many of the services you sign into using your university credentials, such as Zoom, Umail, Skype for Business, UBox, etc.
Please submit a request to the help desk if you would like to have your preferred pronouns added to your display name. -
UMail Security Upgrade beginning July 15, 2020
In a phased approach starting July 15, UIT's Information Security Office will begin implementing Microsoft's Modern Auth and 2-Factor Authentication across all devices and web browsers for UMail.
This change affects the entire University Campus and Health and will require all users to enroll and use 2FA to access their email. Additional information about the upgrade, it's affects, and how to prepare can be found here.

Office Closure, Remote Support & Pick-up / Drop-off Process
Moving forward, CSBS Computing will be closing our office location (GC 1735) and normally scheduled operating hours to further comply with recommended social distancing methods in response to COVID-19. As such, we will no longer be accepting walk-in appointments. However, CSBS Computing will still be available for remote technical support for those in need of assistance, Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm, by submitting a Helpdesk request or by calling 801.585.8985 and speaking with a CSBS Computing representative. Additionally, equipment pick-ups / drop-offs MUST be coordinated through our Helpdesk request tool to determine appropriate delivery instructions. Thank you for your understanding and patience during this unprecedented time. Please don’t hesitate to reach out our team with any questions you might have.

ArcGIS Pro 2.5 released
ArcGIS Pro 2.5 is now installed and available in the CSBS virtual lab. This update resolves the issues with UNC paths. Please reach out to use at 801-585-8985 or via our helpdesk

BEHS network restored
BEHS network should now be restored and stable, please report any further issues to CSBS Computing.

BEHS Network Outage
An uplink failure is causing unexpected network outages in the BEH S tower starting at 10:12am 11/19/19. UIT's network team is aware and investigating.

Latest Firefox update
Please be aware that the latest patch for firefox may result in loss of desktop and start menu shortcuts functionality. If you receive errors when trying to use these shortcuts, please navigate directly to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe and you can launch the program from there. Feel free to reach out to us at 801-585-8985 and we can resolve immediately, an imminent future push will resolve the issue.

CSBS-RDG1 now uses Duo 2FA
For Remote Desktop users, the Remote Desktop Gateway csbs-rdg1.csbs.utah.edu now uses Duo 2FA. This means that when you login, your phone/app will get a prompt to approve the login. Duo is the same application you use to login to CIS.

Service restored
All CSBS services were restored at 9:45 am. You may need to log out and back in to restore your N: or S: drive connectivity. If you are still experiencing any disruption in service, please contact the helpdesk.

Campus Outage
Campus is experiencing a major interruption of IT related services due to a disruption in the fiber connections between campus and the downtown data center. All CSBS services have been affected by this disruption. CSBS Services includes access to the helpdesk, N: and S: drives, as well as the loss of functionality of all CSBS instructional computer labs and the online virtual lab. CSBS Computing staff members are working with UIT to determine an ETA for restoration.
